Beach Vacation Ideas on Oahu

Oahu is just one of the Hawaiian Islands that is both beautiful and diverse. A majority of people are drawn to the excitement of Waikiki Beach with its colorful clubs and great restaurants. Oahu offers many activities including surfing lessons, canoeing, swimming with dolphins, and scuba diving. You and your family will be able to find something for everyone on a beach vacation to Oahu.

If you like adventure you can choose from a wide variety of water sports and land activities. You might try windsurfing or scuba diving lessons. Scuba diving will bring you into the world of the ocean with short lesson on equipment and few water skills. The tropical fish, reefs, and many dive spots on Oahu will keep you diving for days. If land activities are more your, style then hiking through the rain forest or biking up the mountains is available. For extremists Oahu offers parachuting.

You can also rent outrigger canoes, surfboards and other beach gear on Waikiki Beach. Another hot spot is Kapiolani Park for tennis, archery, and jogging enthusiasts. No matter where you are on Oahu there will be plenty for you and your family.

Want to add a little romance to your beach vacation? There are a variety of options from renewing your wedding vows to luxurious beach services at one of the several hotels, such as spa treatments. If you’ve never tasted pink beer or champagne you might want to check out Mai Tai Bar.

A more secluded beach vacation spot on Oahu is Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel, which is ten minutes from Waikiki Beach. The hotel has a long sandy beach for those walks or simply to get a little sun. You can also swim with the dolphins at this hotel, which is something everyone is sure to enjoy.

Are you more family oriented, then you might look into the children’s programs at Waikiki Beach hotels, hands on programs, or water sports. The Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, and Sea Life of Hawaii are a few other attractions the whole family can enjoy, especially for the younger children. Waikiki Beach has calm and shallow water almost all year, especially during the winter months. Lifeguards watch over swimmers and surfers on certain areas of the beach.

Museums, historical attractions, and several cultural exhibits are available for those interested in the Hawaiian Culture. Your whole family will enjoy the trip and wish to return. Oahu is just one island to choose from, but with its many activities and beaches who wouldn’t want to travel to Oahu for a beach vacation.
